Where Blind Men See

Posted in Lyrics with tags , , , , on March 28, 2013 by Stephen Hare

The faithful walk

where blind men see –

It is good to hope

and wait quietly

for the salvation…

…of the Lord

He is good!

His name is great!

I will wait for You to come

I’ve waited now, Lord

for so long!

But still I wait;

for You I wait…

I will wait

for You to come.

Well of My Heart

Posted in Lyrics on March 23, 2013 by Stephen Hare

Woman at the Well

Open my lips, O Lord

and I will give thanks!

Open the well of my heart

and I will sing praises to Your name (x2)

You have opened my eyes to see

Your power and Your glory!

You have opened my ears to hear…

the good news of salvation!

Lord, You give me grace to stand

that I should not fall

You hold my life in Your hand

You are my all in all!

Your word is my light – and my hope

Your Spirit is with me!

I will trust with all of my life

and my heart is Yours…my heart is Yours

…open the well of my heart.

Glory Land

No more sorrow, no more dying

no more sickness, no more pain

no more worry’in about my tomorrows

you know I must be thinkin about Glory Land!

No more sighin, ’bout my weakness

no more grievin for the way I’ve been

no more waitin; I’m goin to see Jesus!

You know I’m only thinkin – about Glory Land!

No more hatred, no more bloodshed

no more taking of innocent life

no more evil, and no more injustice

can’t wait til I’m singin – (x3) …up in Glory Land!

Encouragement

encouragement 2

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.” Romans 1:12

I was encouraged by a post from Allistair Begg today, which is actually a re-written devotional from Spurgeon.

The idea of the message was an alert to the danger of living at ease – the subtle allure of prosperity that lulls us into a slumber-like complacency (my words, not his), that rather than bemoaning our times of adversity, we should rather praise God for them, considering the good that God works in us through them.

As I consider the theme today of encouragement, in light of Rom 1:12, I believe that we are encouraged when we see one another facing trials, adversities and affliction, and by the grace of God remaining true to Him – and joyful in the midst of it all; considering that, “the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared to the glory that will be revealed in us.”

It is by our dependency on Him that His light shines through, His strength being more clearly seen through our weakness; so that even in our weakness we are able to strengthen one another with the strength we have received from Him.

We carry this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be seen to be of God, and not of ourselves.”

Lord, help us today to encourage each other as You have encouraged us by Your Spirit.

Amen.

An Anthem To Freedom

Posted in Poetry with tags , , , , on March 9, 2013 by Stephen Hare

Were you there when Jesus bled
Before the cross, in sins were dead
By your hand in Christ were led
On to victory

Now’s the day and now’s the hour
Stand with Christ and stand in power
He’s our Rock and strong High Tower
We’re free from slavery

So will you come and fight the fight
March in the day and not the night
We will send them all to flight
This will be our day

Free men march and free men die
And all proclaim our God on high
His glory fills the earth and sky
Come Lord soon we pray

In glorious majesty He reigns
He’s broken all our wretched chains
On Calvary He took our pains
And death has lost its sting

Now Jesus come and take your place
We lift our eyes, we see your face
Our enemies we now give chase
We serve our glorious King

No longer slaves and dead in sin
New life arises from within
We sing to you a glorious hymn
Of joy and victory

We have arisen from the dead
And follow you who died and bled
And rose victoriously and said
No more slavery

Come now my children, come and see
You once were chained but now are free
Free to live and reign with me
Its time to wield the sword

It’s the final day, the final hour
Rain down thy presence, a glorious shower
It’s not by might nor any power
But by My Spirit says the Lord

Fill Me With Your Spirit

Posted in Lyrics with tags , , , , , on March 4, 2013 by Stephen Hare

Holy-Spirit-Dove

Fill me with Your Spirit Lord,

give grace to stir Your gift within

Your eternal, living power

over all the power of sin

Make my life the light that You

intended me to be

Fill me with Your Spirit Lord,

so that others may see

Fill me with Your Spirit Lord,

You presence dwell within

evidence that I’ll

the final victory win

That when this life is over

I will hear You say, “Well done!”

Fill me with Your Spirit Lord,

til Your kingdom comes

Make my life the light that You

intended me to be

Fill me with Your Spirit Lord,

so that others may see

Fill me with Your Spirit Lord,

my inner life renew

help me crucify what I once was

til it’s not I who live, but only You

Fill me now that I might live

the life You’ll live through me

Fill me with Your Spirit Lord,

so that others may see
